Observations begin in the land, wind, light, storms, animals, rivers, and the cosmos. In the quiet of the anchorhold, they are gathered and deepen. Hand-gathered materials, like plant ash, rust, and stone leave traces of wisdom. The paintings emerge from this attention. Each is a singular encounter, an invitation to slow seeing.

SPR ING

The season of transformation. Storms form and animals return. Pastures are burned to make way for growth.

SUM MER

The season of gum-weed, yarrow, Indian grass and the south wind. Searing heat gives way to powerful thunderstorms.

FA LL

The time of harvest and shadow. Snow geese arrive, prairie grass matures, great moons rise.

WIN TER

The dimming time that invokes stillness. Time of the North. The earth reveals itself in new ways.
